I am a stay at home mom and expecting Baby #3 this summer. Needless to say, I am trying to find a balance between trips to town, lowering our budget, and still providing meals we love! The below schedule is what we will be eating for the next 4 weeks. Thanks to my prior month stocking up I only need to make one trip in to town to pick up 2 chickens, hamburger, one roast, lettuce, a few avocados, spinach, apples, bananas, Flour, Sugar, and one more gallon of Milk- Now that is awesome!!! My goal with my upcoming posts is to provide you a simple meal plan that allows once a month shopping, stocking up your pantry suggestions, an overall lower budget for feeding your family! Breakfasts rotate through weekly with Sundays and Saturdays having more family options as we often have company and daddy is home to eat with us! Lunches- we pack lunch for Daddy so he needs a specific menu that is easy for me to prepare ahead of time! Suppers- we follow a general guide of Sunday- Family Favorites, Monday- Meatless, Tuesday- Mexican/ Clean up Fridge, Wednesday- Beef/ Chicken, Thursday- Salad, Friday- Pizza/Pasta, Saturday- Family Favorites. As the temperatures heat up I will be grilling more! Into the late summer when my garden becomes fruitful we will also have much more fresh produce that will not be shopped for- I will still put these items on your shopping lists for your convenience! Items not included in this post but will be uploaded soon: 1. Shopping list for this menu 2. Recipes added to the Recipe Link ***Most of these meals can be tailored to include many of your Bountiful Basket Items*** I spent some time totaling what we buy and was amazed! It is difficult to estimate exactly how much of the bulk purchased items we use each month; that being said I estimated high! I'd rather have money left over each month than come up short! *** On the plus side with these calculations I can feed my family with the below (not including the additional items needed for some recipes) for around $2 per person- each day! SCORE! That's 3 meals plus 2 snacks for $2 each! Below are a few images showing items we buy regularly. This is not always our list but a general guide for what we buy at Sams, Walmart, Target, and occasionally at our local grocery store. It is a LIFE saver having a Sams Membership! So many items are cheaper and when bought in bulk you save a ton!
The items in the above- Additional items not included section- are not all inclusive- we all know we buy toiletries but in general you do not need those to feed your family! I tend to budget it all together as I shop for everything at one time... but to make this budget look a little more concise to food, i omitted them from the figures above!

This is great! Thank you so much! I really need to incorporate this into our lives also...especially with Nick being so busy with the farm and not around to help. Planning ahead would take A LOT of stress off me (especially with a new baby coming in a few short weeks!)
